Dying kid's last wish - feed the homeless

When doctor told the dying 11yrs old boy Brenden Foster of Bothell, Wash who suffered leukemia since last December that he has only 2 more weeks to live, instead of feeling despair he wanted to feed the homeless instead of asking for expensive toys as his last wish. What a touching story.
Sad that no miracle happen, he died in his mother's arm on Friday.

What inspired this little boy to do so?
"I was coming back from one of my clinic appointments and I saw this big thing of homeless people and then I thought I should just get them something," Foster said.

Dubai in $80 Billion of debt !

This is something that not many people aware of . Dubai always portrait their image to the world that they are filthy rich...

source from telegraph uk

According to one of Dubai's top property bosses, the emirate has $80bn (£54bn) of debt outstanding against a total asset base of $1.3 trillion.

The numbers were revealed as part of a series of speeches by Dubai's leaders who sought to confirm the emirate's claim to power in world finance and dispel rumours that its growth is stalling.

His Excellency Mohamed Ali Alabbar, chief executive of Emaar Properties and a member of Dubai's excutive council, said the figures were being revealed to end "international speculation" that the country is buckling under its leverage.

Speaking at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Week, Mr Alabbar said: "I can state categorically the government can and will meet all of its obligations going forward and I have no doubt about this country's future.

"And if and when a crisis arises in one of our afflilated companies, will the government help? Yes we will."

Attacking the rumours head on, Mr Alabbar said: "There has been confusion and concern about how much Dubai owes and how its debt will be financed. Concern leads to speculation. So I can say that Dubai's current sovereign debt is $10bn or 37bn UAE Dirhams (AED). Our key sovereign assets at their current level of undervaluation stand at $90bn or AED350bn.

"This does not include our aiports, our bridges, our metro system or our healthcare. The total debt obligation of the government's affiliated companies is $70bn or AED256bn. This is compared to the total asset value of the affiliated companies of $260bn or AED950bn."

He added: "When we started the work in 1992, the Council was hit by rumours. We ran from them and we have been running from constant rumours for 18 years. Still there are rumours that we're selling our property assets or selling 50pc of Emirates airline. I can categorically state this is not true."

However he did admit: "Dubai's growth has been at a rate of 13pc to 14pc a year. If this comes down to 6pc or 7pc or 8pc then fine. We've been running a long time and could probably do with a breather. We will use this time to learn lessons and become a stronger city."

The conference, the public sessions of which started today and has attracted hundred of top business bosses from around the world, was opened this morning by the head of the DIFC, His Excellency Omar Bin Sulaiman. The conference's title, "Where money meets opportunity", has been given a more sober sub-heading of "Sustaining our oasis of prosperity in a turbulent world".

The DIFC owns the emirate's financial assets such as its stock exchange, Mr Bin Sulaiman said: "DIFC Week takes place at a critical juncture for the global economy. Many see in the turmoil of global markets a crisis of epochal proportions. Yet the financial shock waves rumbling around the world could be the first birth pangs of a new economic reality... Until recently capital typically moved from the developed world to developing economies. This dynamic is now changing. New financial centres [like the GCC region] complement, if not rival, the role played by established centres like London and New York."

Other speakers at the conference admitted the Middle East had under-estimated the global financial crisis. His Excellency Bassem Awadallah, former director of the office of King Abdullah of Jordan, said: "This part of the world has been slow to recognise what's been going on global in financial markets"

Mr Alabbar said: "Today the world's faith in the future is being tested. While we recognise with humility the many challenges that lie ahead, I can assure you we will spare no effort to secure our future.

"As His Highness [Dubai's ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum] said recently: Dubai's direction is straight and forward."

Amy Winehouse officially split with Blake

Saw the news today that the troubled talented singer Amy Winehouse's marriage with Blake Fielder-Civil is officially over and she told the media that she and Blake together is mainly for sex. They have been married for 17 mths and 1/3 of their marriage Blake spent in jail.

She also revealed that they were into wild sex especially threesome, that is really awful! Well.. it is good that Amy slowly aware and wake up, hopefully she really wake up and rebuild her life not to waste her talents.

Source from news.com.au

TROUBLED singer Amy Winehouse has admitted her marriage is over, adding she and Blake Fielder-Civil were only together for sex.

The award-winning Back To Black singer said her jailbird husband has fallen into the arms of a blonde German model Sophie Schandorff, who was reported mouthing "I love you" to Fielder-Civil at the start of his trial.

“It’s over. There’s no way back for us now. It was never going to last. We were only together for sex,'' she reportedly told The News of the World newspaper in the UK..

“I fancied him like mad, like no one else I’ve ever known. But it’s not enough, is it?”

The pair had been married for 17 months after their wedding in Miami, Florida - five months of which drug-addict Blake-Fielder was in jail for perverting the course of justice and grievous bodily harm with intent.

The report also claimed that winehouse had told friends that the pair engaged in threesomes and Fielder-Civil liked to watch Amy having lesbian sex.

“Amy told me they were mad for each other, experimenting all the time," the source told The News of the World.

“Mostly it was Blake suggesting new things but Amy doesn’t need encouragement. They were like animals, at it all the time.

“Just like they were with drugs, they pushed themselves to the limit.

“They were into threesomes. It was Blake’s idea but Amy said she’d been with women before so it wasn’t a problem. She said she’s had a string of female lovers. Whenever Blake said he wanted three-in-a-bed Amy would fix it.

“They didn’t care about sharing themselves with others because it turned them on. They thought they were on this sexual journey together.

“And the pair of them were into some real kinky stuff, not just the usual bondage and sex games but really gross stuff you couldn’t mention in a newspaper.

“Amy said that was the basis for their relationship. It was built on sex so when he went inside prison there was nothing for them to fall back on.

“She’s not been to see Blake since he came out and she’s had loads of opportunities.

“Without their rampant sex life they’ve got nothing, it seems. Amy still cares about Blake and wants to help him through rehab but can’t see any chance of them getting back together.

“They were bad for each other, each pushing the other to excess, whether drugs or sex.

“Plus he sponged off her. And she’s awake to that now."

What People Don't Know about Obama 20yrs ago

Oct 05, 2008

The Norwegian newspaper VG has reported a truly amazing story about a newly-wed trying to get to Norway to be with her husband, and the stranger who helped pay an unexpected luggage surcharge.

The blog 'Leisha's Random Thoughts' has translated the story:

It was 1988, and Mary Andersen was in line at the Miami airport checking in for a long flight to Norway to be with her husband. When it was finally Mary's turn, she got the message that would crush her bubbling feeling of happiness.

"You'll have to pay a 103 dollar surcharge if you want to bring both those suitcases to Norway ," the man behind the counter said.

Mary had no money. Her new husband had travelled ahead of her to Norway , and she had no one else to call.

"I was completely desperate and tried to think which of my things I could manage without. But I had already made such a careful selection of my most prized possessions," says Mary.

As tears streamed down her face, she heard a 'gentle and friendly voice' behind her saying, "That's okay, I'll pay for her."

Mary turned around to see a tall man whom she had never seen before. He had a gentle and kind voice that was still firm and decisive. "The first thing I thought was, Who is this man?"

Although this happened 20 years ago, Mary still remembers the authority that radiated from the man. He was nicely dressed, with brown leather shoes, a cotton shirt open at the throat and khaki pants, says Mary.

She was thrilled to be able to bring both her suitcases to Norway and assured the stranger that he would get his money back. The man wrote his name and address on a piece of paper that he gave to Mary. She thanked him repeatedly. When she finally walked off towards the security checkpoint, he waved goodbye to her.

Who was the man?

Barack Obama.

Twenty years later, she is thrilled that the friendly stranger at the airport may be the next President and has voted for him already and donated 100 dollars to his campaign:

"He was my knight in shining armor," says Mary, smiling.

She paid the 103 dollars back to Obama the day after she arrived in Norway . At that time he had just finished his job as a poorly paid community worker in Chicago , and had started his law studies at prestigious Harvard university.

Mary even convinced her parents to vote for him: In the spring of 2006 Mary's parents had heard that Obama was considering a run for president, but that he had still not decided. They chose to write a letter in which they told him that he would receive their votes. At the same time, they thanked Obama for helping their daughter 18 years earlier.

And Obama replied. In a letter to Mary's parents dated May 4th 2006 and stamped "United States Senate, Washington DC ' Barack Obama writes:

'I want to thank you for the lovely things you wrote about me and for reminding me of what happened at Miami airport. I'm happy I could help back then, and I'm delighted to hear that your daughter is happy in Norway . Please send her my best wishes. Sincerely, Barack Obama , United States Senator'.

The parents sent the letter on to Mary.

Mary says that when her friends and associates talk about the election, especially when race relations is the heated subject, she relates the story of the kind man who helped out a stranger-in-need over twenty years ago, years before he had even thought about running for high office.

UPDATE: Also, remember this was 1988, when 100 dollars was quite a bit of money, compared to today's value.

Truly a wonderful story, and something that needs to be passed along in the maelstorm of fear-and-smear politics we are being subjected to right now.

Do They Know Its Christmas? Feed The World

Christmas is just around the corner, everyone is getting into the holiday season mood, we are the lucky ones, while celebrating Christmas we also should remember those who are not as lucky as us like those who even have problem to get food into their mouth. There are still many parts of Africa is affected by hunger. Despite the song by Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas has been sung very often but how many really notice the lyrics and really feel it. For those who always complaint life and waste food perhaps this video is a good reminder to all of us, how precious is our food.

Here is the lyrics for

It's Christmas time
There's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy

Throw your arms around the world at Christmas time

But say a prayer

Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmas time at all

(Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here's to them) underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmas time at all

Feed the world, feed the world, feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again

Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmas time again

Sticker on Fruits - Organic, GMO, Conventional

Received the email from friend on how to identify the fruits that you are buying falls under which 'Category' - Conventional, Organic or GMO (Genetically Modified).

The sticker labels on the fruits actually tell you how the fruits have been grown whether they
were organically grown or conventionally grown with pesticides and herbicides or the most controversial way the genetically engineered fruits.

Conventional Fruit Labels
Four digits and 'does not' start with 9
** mostly starting with the digit 4

Organic Fruit Labels
Five digits and starts with number 9

Genetically Modified Fruits
Starts with the digit 8
So next time you go shopping, remember these critical numbers and know
how to avoid purchasing inorganic and GMO fruits.
Shop Safe :)

Know your stuff now because there is no obligation that the shop must inform you that the fruits are genetically modified.

Okay, so if you come across an apple in the store and it's label is 4922, it's an conventional apple grown with herbicides and harmful fertilizers.
If it has a sticker 99222, it's organic and safe to eat.
If it says 89222, then RUN!!!! It has been genetically modified (GMO).

For conventionally grown fruit, (grown with chemicals inputs), the PLU code on the sticker consists of four numbers. Organically grown fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 9. Genetically engineered (GM) fruit has a five-numeral PLU prefaced by the number 8. For example,

A conventionally grown banana would be:

An organic banana would be:

A genetically engineered (GE or GMO) banana would be:

What's Obama's impact to U.S / the World

The victory of Barack Obama as the first ever African American U.S president is not just any ordinary victory of the 'post' of President but it is the hope and revolution to the world.

Barack Obama has created a craze in the world, not only American but the world is rejoicing that he been elected as the President of the United States of America. Asian, European, Middle Eastern and the African needless to say. Obama represents the hope of the world. Obama is seen as a 'healer' for American which the country has been wounded by George W. Bush. Ever since Bush took over the relationship of America with the world has been broken. Personally i reckon the terrorist attack was aggravated by George W. Bush's Barbarian act.

Why the American elected Obama? very simple answer. People already have enough of George Bush's nonsence and hope for a change. Obama seems to be the only hope if compare with John McCain.

What is Obama's impact to the world? Countries who have bad relationship with America e.g Iran and North Korea seems to have hope to have a fair negotiation. Russia was once 'good friend' with America also turned sour. As a whole U.S is basically been torn apart by George W. Bush administration.

The success of Obama as of now is a good example to the world who plays 'race politic' one of the example is Malaysia which the top guns misuse the power by imposing ISA to anyone that they don't like, this is a very inhuman act. I saw the news lately one of the bloggers in Malaysia Raja Petra Kamaruddin was detained under ISA just because he speaks his mind ISA is a detention without trial, but was happy to read in CNN today that the court finally ordered Raja Petra to be released.

People who misuse their power at the end of the day will be trapped by their own rope.

Obama is a wake up call to the world that everything is possible.
Look at the milestone that the African American achieved, from slave they fought for their life and finally able to go to school with the white kids and now the top man of United States of America - the super power of the world which no one can deny it.

What Costs John McCain lost in the election

What is the major cause of the lost of John McCain in the U.S Presidential Election?

The major factor that costs him the presidency is the wrong choice of running mate - Sarah Palin.

He used the wrong strategy, he thought to get Sarah Palin in can win over the vote from Hillary Clinton's supporters.

Sarah Palin was stunning as celebrity but after awhile people started to see the true color of hers. She is ignorant, inexperience and big headed. She didn't even know which magazine interviewed her, she couldn't name it. The way she presents on the debate on how to tackle the issues, she just flopped.

Sarah Palin is long way to go to be like Hillary Clinton.

Barack Obama - The First African American U.S President !

Barack Obama has just become the first ever black president of the United States Of America, a history making moment.

Obama claimed the crucial state - Ohio

CNN projects Barack Obama will win the critical battleground state of Ohio. No Republican has ever become the U.S. president without winning Ohio.

U.S needs a righteous leader

Personally i think U.S really need a righteous leader as everyone can see an unrighteous leader like George W. Bush can actually ruin a country, the economy jeapordized. This type of leader does thing only with their own agenda, for their own benefit not for the country. They want to show to the world they have 'power' to destruct others if others don't agree with them. This is equal to barbarian act.

Probably there are many innocent American not aware of that outside world a lot of people don't like American because of George W. Bush's act. And personally i also think that John McCain is just another George W. Bush who like to show power instead of doing things sensibly.

Somehow, for Barack Obama he shows some kind of charisma which in this presidential election which no one has. He portraits himself well, look at the debate that he had with John McCain,he shows what it takes to be a leader.

Update U.S Election 2008 - 101yrs old vote for 1st time

2008 U.S election has created many 'first'. The first African American President, the first Roman Catholic Vice President and one of the most inspirational is this one.

One 101 yrs lady who has never vote in her entire life before came out and vote for the first time, she wants to vote for Barack Obama.

Sarah E. Williams, 101, registers to vote for the first time in her life at the Albemarle County Registrar’s Office. Williams went on to cast an early ballot for Democrat Barack Obama.

The Gift of Saying So Much With So Few Words

This something interesting to ponder.

If you will take the time to read these, I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis:

They're written by Andy Rooney, a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words.

I've learned .. That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned .. That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned .. That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.

I've learned .. That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned .. That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned .. That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned .. That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned .. That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned .. That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned .. That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned .. That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned .. That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned .. That money doesn't buy class.

I've learned .. That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned .. That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned .. That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned .. That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned .. That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned .. That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned .. That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned .. That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned ... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned .. That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned .. That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned .. That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.

I've learned .. That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned .. That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned .. That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned .. That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned .. That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

It's Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care about them.

Barack Obama's grandma passed away before she saw the victory

Heard a sad news early in the morning that Barack Obama's beloved grandmother Madelyn Dunham has died after a bout with cancer shortly before midnight Sunday night (5 a.m. ET)two days before the U.S 2008 presidential election which also a possible day the history making day of the First Black America President . She passed away peacefully at her home.

Madelyn Dunham is the dearest to Obama, she is the one who encouraged them to take chances and she gave everything that she has for them. What a respectable woman

Obama said in an interview taped for that day's "Good Morning America" that Dunham had been "inundated" with flowers and messages from strangers who read about her in Obama's 1995 book, "Dreams From My Father."

"Maybe she is getting a sense of long-deserved recognition toward the end of her life," he said.

Obama added this : "She poured everything she had into me. And although she can no longer travel, I know that she's watching tonight, and that tonight is her night as well."
